Conversion Methods

• Average — (R + G + B) / 3. Simple mean of all channels.
• Luminosity — 0.299R + 0.587G + 0.114B. Weighted average matching human eye sensitivity; produces the most perceptually accurate gray.
• Lightness — (max(R,G,B) + min(R,G,B)) / 2. Average of the brightest and darkest channels.
