Every digital image is composed of three color channels: Red, Green, and Blue (RGB). By mixing these three primary colors of light at different intensities (0-255), millions of colors can be created. White is formed when all three channels are at maximum (255, 255, 255), black when all are at minimum (0, 0, 0), and gray when all three are equal.
Red Channel controls the amount of red in your image. Increasing red makes images warmer, enhances sunsets, and strengthens skin tones. Decreasing red removes warmth, creates cooler tones, and can fix overly warm color casts. Extreme red reduction creates cyan tones.
Green Channel affects the middle of the color spectrum. Green is the channel humans are most sensitive to. Increasing green enhances foliage, creates fresh vibrant looks, and adds life to images. Decreasing green creates magenta shifts and can be used for creative effects or fixing fluorescent lighting color casts.
Blue Channel controls cool tones in your image. Increasing blue creates cooler, more serene atmospheres, enhances sky and water, and adds depth to shadows. Decreasing blue warms the image, creates golden hour effects, and can remove excessive coolness from overcast or shade photos.
